9^th January 1961	Following comments by Miss Joan Ward: Headmaster absent. School reopened. 2 students from Shoreditch Training colleges began final teaching practice. Mrs. Souter commenced duties.

16^th January 1961	Miss Mitson’s services no longer required.
23^rd January 1961	Youth Employment Officer interview – boys re: engineering course leaving school July 1961.
24^th January 1961	School closed for Common Entrance Exam – used as a centre.
26^th January 1961	Mr. Goodger still absent.
27^th January 1961	I suspended Robert Child for insubordination and immediately notified the Rev. A.J. Costin and Mr. Elworthy.
30^th January 1961	Miss Voller visited the school.
31^st January 1961	New classrooms brought into use.
1^st February 1961	Medical Inspection – 6^th and 4^th year boys. B. Grittiths, County Boxing Champion.
7^th February 1961	Mrs. Monshin left the staff.

13^th February 1961	Robert Child returned to school in the afternoon after suspension. Dip. Imn. All morning.
15^th February 1961	Medical Inspection. Miss. Voller visited the school.
17^th February 1961	I, Mr. F.W. Goodger, resumed duties today. School closed for half term holiday.
22^nd February 1961	School reopened after half term break. Medical Exam. A.M.
23^rd February 1961	House Services.
24^th February 1961	Cycle Proficiency Scheme launched.
27^th February 1961	B. Griffiths reached quarter final Nat. Boxing Championship (County Colours V. Kent, Sussex and Middlesex).

6^th March 1961	Visit of 13+ transfer panel to interview 1 candidate. I left the school at 2.15pm to attend a Governors’ Meeting at Sheerwater C.S.S. at 2.30 P.M.
7^th March 1961	I was absent (also 8^th March 1961) acting on 13+ panel at Reigate Priory C.S.S. During absence Mr. Richardson called, expressed to the Deputy Head dissatisfaction with the school playing field and said he had given the firm until the end of the week to make improvements.
9^th March 1961	This afternoon I expelled Robert Child from this school. I notified the D.E.O. but as I was unsuccessful in contacting the chairman of the school Governors I sent him a copy of the letter sent to the D.E.O. (this afternoon).
13^th and 14^th March 1961	I was absent – 13+ examining at Beare Green County Secondary School.
15^th March 1961	A.M. Again absent – Beare Green Secondary School. P.M. District Netball rally and presentation of trophies at this school. DEO gave permission to close the school for the afternoon.
28^th March 1961	Fire Drill at 2.50 P.M. Staff V. Children Netball match after school.
29^th March 1961	School closed for the Easter holidays until 24^th April 1961.
24th April1961	School reopened Mrs Randall and Mr. Swann joined the staff. During the holiday: (a) The school corridors were repainted. (b) A party of boys visited North Wales for an introduction to climbing, camping and map reading. 3 boys used this visit to further their training in connection with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – Silver Medal. (c) Ramble in Guildford park area. (d) Work on the library conversion (e) New cycle shed installed.
